Yeah I get it. Not your fault. The realy big marketing money should be comming very soon for 3d sales and maybe that will prompt ATI to move on this. I just hope it happens befor the year is out at this point.
grumpy tired of waiting but thanks for trying to get ATI to move. _________________ go here for custom iz3d compatible 3d animated lasersights mine are at the bottom http://forum.iz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=1352 oh yeah my fellow babies I almost forgot BOOGER!

have you tried the ed glasses in interlaced mode? there cheap and not a bad solution as we wait for ATI to release qb support. if you have dlp_link glasses all you would need is the dongle. _________________ go here for custom iz3d compatible 3d animated lasersights mine are at the bottom http://forum.iz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=1352 oh yeah my fellow babies I almost forgot BOOGER!

Hi Crash,
Will they work ok with an Optoma HD67?
yes I wasn't fast enough with my edit. It will work all you need is the dongle if you have dlp_link glasses.
keystone must be at 0. I can test it with my optima hd66 and let you know 100% . I'm using acer right now. gota go to work.later _________________ go here for custom iz3d compatible 3d animated lasersights mine are at the bottom http://forum.iz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=1352 oh yeah my fellow babies I almost forgot BOOGER!
One more update - ATI finally gives me a real answer:
Dear Richard,
...
On a complete investigation regarding Quad Buffer Support, the announcement in 10.3 was a way to signal and encourage ecosystem developments. Drivers now that are release from 10-3 and higher do now have the capabilities within the driver, but at this time they are currently not enabled.
We have developed Quad Buffer capability, as we work to deliver the full solution enabled by our software and 3rd party components in both hardware and software in an Open ecosystem based on industry standards.
Our middleware partners that we are working with currently have private access to the Quad buffer for their development. This feature will be enabled once we launch S3D officially, and apologize for any confusion regarding the intended message in the release notes.
In order to update this service request, please respond, leaving the service request reference intact.
Best regards,
AMD Global Customer Care
---
So ATI's line is that they haven't "officially launched" quad buffer, the 10.3 update was only for developers' private versions of the driver. They did not give me any idea on the release.
Well I'll be damned. If they had told us that in the first place instead of jerking us around with the is it or isn't it rigamarole, then maybe I wouldn't have bought this 3D vision kit.
I understand now what IZ3D means when they respond without actually being able to tell us anything. They(IZ3D) have access to a working driver with unlocked quad buffer support for their research. We(Users) have a driver with the functionality but we can't have access to it until ATI decides that the time is right.
It's like a switch, and ATI will flip it at a time of their choosing and at their discretion. Keep in mind, that none of us are paying for 3D capability on our ATI cards. At no point in time did we shell out money for an ATI style 3D vision kit. This is free, much like the old school Nvidia drivers, to a certain extent.
The biggest problem is that unlike Nvidia's old school 3D drivers, the users are not the only ones relying on ATI to flip the switch. There are third party companies like Tridef and IZ3D that are depending upon this driver being released and are mapping out their product package with the expectation that it will be both available and functional in the very near future.
Seems to me that it would have been more advantageous, from ATI's perspective, to have purchased IZ3D in its entirety and had them build a driver. Let's be realistic here, IZ3D already has several working products out on the market and was already one step ahead of the game when everyone else decided to jump on the 3D bandwagon. They possess both the knowledge and the backbone to bring an ATI\IZ3D branded monitor onto the market with a driver that fully supports ATI cards right out of the box. That would have put ATI a step ahead of Nvidia right off the bat.
In my opinion, and keep in mind it is just my opinion, that ATI is run by idiots if they don't see the value in this fine company. If I was in charge I would snapped them right up, paid them what they are worth and had a completely working 3D solution, both driver and hardware, on the market like yesterday.
This is what happens when your company is run by marketing people.
